Laser Genesis Pre- and Post-Care

Before Your Treatment (Pre‑Care)

  • Avoid sunbathing/tanning beds for 2 weeks prior and self‑tanner for 1–2 weeks on treatment areas; I will not arrive sunburned.

  • Hold active topicals (retinoids/retinol, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, strong vitamin C, scrubs/brushes) for 2–3 days prior (longer if sensitive).

  • Avoid irritating procedures (waxing, threading, depilatories, strong peels, microderm) for 1 week prior.

  • Arrive with clean, makeup‑free skin; men will clean shave if requested.

  • If you have a history of cold sores (HSV) on or near treatment areas, you should notify SOKO and take antiviral prophylaxis if directed.

  • Photosensitizing medications: You should not stop prescriptions on my own; you should inform SOKO so timing/settings can be adjusted.

  • Redness‑prone patients: You should avoid alcohol, very spicy foods, and very hot beverages for 24 hours before treatment to reduce flushing.

Post-Care

Day 0 (0–24 hours)
  • Expect warmth/pinkness for a few hours; cool compresses only if needed.
  • Avoid heat/sweat: no strenuous exercise, hot tubs, saunas/steam for 24 hours.
  • Makeup: usually OK same day once skin is calm/dry; choose light mineral formulas.
  • Gentle cleanse; bland moisturizer as needed.
  • Strict sun protection (hat/shade).
Day 1–3
  • Continue gentle cleanse + bland moisturizer; add hydrating serum (e.g., hyaluronic acid) if desired.
  • Mineral/broad‑spectrum SPF 30+ daily; reapply if outdoors.
  • Resume normal activities, keeping skin cool; minimize triggers that cause flushing.
Day 4–7
  • If skin is calm, re‑introduce actives gradually; avoid over‑exfoliation.
  • Keep daily SPF; avoid intentional sun.

Indication‑Specific Notes

A) Diffuse Redness / Rosacea‑prone Skin
  • Temporary pinkness and mild swelling may occur.
  • Avoid alcohol, spicy foods, and very hot drinks for 24–48 hours post‑treatment. Be          careful with hot water and excessive sweating.
  • Use cool packs if needed; do not rub treated areas.
B) Texture / Pores / Mild Acne
  • Expect smoother feel over several sessions; occasional transient dryness may occur.
  • Favor non‑comedogenic hydration; resume acne actives gradually when calm.

Series, Maintenance & Scheduling

  • Typical series: 4–6 treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
  • Maintenance: monthly to quarterly, based on goals/skin response.
  • Injectables: For the same area, neuromodulators may be same‑day (laser first, then injections) if approved; otherwise allow ≥24–48h. Fillers: allow ≥1–2 weeks.
Optional Topical Add‑Ins (If Purchased)
  • Ariessence™ Pure PDGF+ (topical) and Plated™ serums may be applied same‑day post‑Genesis if skin is calm; continue Days 1–7 as directed; avoid strong actives while using.
